Shermin Voshmgir is director of the Research Institute for Crypto Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and founder of BlockchainHub in Berlin. At 1E9 she will speak on token economic models that foster a more sustainable society and benefit the social impact of future technologies more general.
Nigel is CEO and co-founder of Graphcore, a new silicon and systems company that has developed a new type of processor to accelerate machine learning and AI applications and secured over $300m in funding and support for the company from some of the world’s leading venture capital firms including Sequoia Capital, Foundation Capital and Atomico, from major corporations including BMW, Bosch, Dell, Microsoft and Samsung and from eminent Artificial Intelligence innovators.
Ben LivshitsBrave Software
Ben Livshifts serves as Chief Scientist at Brave Software, building the fastest growing privacy focused browser that blocks intrusive ads and trackers. At 1E9, he will talk about the mission of Brave Software and will share his insights on the future of the web.
Lin Kayser is co-founder of Hyperganic, a software company pioneering AI-driven design for the future of manufacturing. During the early 90s, he worked as software engineer at ARADEX on disrupting the industrial control world by adopting off-the-shelf PC technology. In 2000, he founded IRIDAS, where he was instrumental in transforming the film industry from analog to digital, before the company was sold to Adobe in 2011.
Christoph Jentzsch is co-founder of Slock.it. He previously worked in the core team of Ethereum. His best-known project is the “The DAO”. At 1E9 he will share his insights into his current work on the world’s smallest software client for connecting IoT devices to a blockchain and his thoughts on a decentralized sharing economy.
Heather Dewey-HagborgBio-political Artist
Dr. Heather Dewey-Hagborg is a transdisciplinary artist and educator who is interested in art as research and critical practice. Her controversial biopolitical art practice includes the project Stranger Visions in which she created portrait sculptures from analyses of genetic material (hair, cigarette butts, chewed up gum) collected in public places. At 1E9 she'll present her latest work, a love virus!
Bulent Altan is member of the management board at Mynaric, prolific space investor and was leading 200 persons as VP of engineering at SpaceX. His work largely culminated in the epic simultaneous landing of the two Falcon Heavy side boosters in 2018. At 1E9 he will share anecdotes and his experience at SpaceX and tell us more about his current relentless work to enable building an Internet brought to us from above the clouds.
Sebnem Rusitschka is a computer scientist by training, a Siemens-veteran and a researcher for life, who believes that humanity needs enlightenment to cope with the impact technology can have on our own species. With the foundation of Freeelio in 2016 and joining EnergiMine in 2019, it became crystal clear to her: blockchain, smart contracts and energy tokenization are a technology with an impact. It could accelerate clean energy access at a never before possible scale.
Simon HaddadinFranka Emika
Simon Haddadin is the founder of Franka Emika: the company that develops the first sensitive and learning capable light-weight robot “Panda”. At 1E9 he will talk about the mission of Franka Emika: building the ideal robot of the future, which should be a tool that can be used by anybody and which supports humans in carrying out unpleasant or even dangerous tasks.
Daniel Krauss is one of the three founders of FlixMobility and the current CIO where he is responsible for all technological aspects of FlixMobility including Business Intelligence, Online Product, Infrastructure and Software Engineering. At 1E9 he will share his vision for the future of mobility.

The conference takes place in the heart of Munich at the iconic Deutsches Museum, the world’s largest technology museum, at Isarforum, a historic landmark turned into a modern convention space, and at Blitz, Munich’s finest electronic music club.
All locations are within walking distance located directly at the river Isar. And there is a beer garden to enjoy some Bavarian beer.
Together with our partner chooose, we’ll fund UN-verified CO2-reducing projects in developing countries. That will more than offset our CO2 footprint.
We won’t use plastic that cannot be reused, and we’ll also reduce paper waste. Event materials, e.g. banners, will get a second life as beautiful bags. The food that’s available at the conference will be vegetarian. And the shirts for our staff are made of organic cotton.
